The Himalayas | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Ben Kenigsberg New York Times "The Himalayas" is a broad comedy, a buddy movie, a mountain climbing adventure and a cornball weepie, not always in proportions that go well together. Dec 31, 2015 Full Review The Himalayas | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Michael Nordine Village Voice Director Lee Suk-hoon proves a capable (if uninspired) hand at meeting genre expectations; rest assured that ladders will precariously bridge crevasses, oxygen levels will drop, and grand speeches will be made as our heroes face near-certain death. Dec 29, 2015 Full Review The Himalayas | Rotten Tomatoes (3) James Mudge easternKicks.com While it's hard not to feel frustrated at the thought of a more tightly edited and less hysterical take, Lee nevertheless offers up a couple of hours of polished entertainment Rated: 3/5 Nov 1, 2020 Full Review The Himalayas | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Diva Velez TheDivaReview.com A formulaic glut of schmaltzy clichs and cheap-looking visuals packed into a predictable, witless, braindead script. If someone had pushed the film cans for The Himalayas off a mountain, we'd be all the better for it. Rated: 2/5 Jan 3, 2016 Full Review The Himalayas | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Josh Bell Las Vegas Weekly There's a lot of crying and wailing for a movie about hardened adventurers, and it eventually drowns out any potential excitement. Rated: 2/5 Dec 29, 2015 Full Review The Himalayas | Rotten Tomatoes (6) David Noh Film Journal International For hardy souls who like hardy film fare, this Korean mountain-climbing epic should be worth the trek. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Some of the best and most realistic climbing footage in a film that was not a true documentary. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review jean-pol c My opinion---This movie is above all a human drama, set with extraordinary shots and scene of courage and solidarity which in high mountain is absolutely necessary. I liked the movie very much, because there is humor at the beginning, then the dramatic story and finally the giant that is the Everest. Finally the exploit of all these mountaineers. The movie is very well done and this story is based on a true story that will make you love this beautiful movie. A movie to be discovered by the sumptuous images offered by Everest Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 3 stars.
